1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

Topping:
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. walnuts
1/4 c. light cream
1 c. coconut
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Pour water over the oats and mix well.
Cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs. Stir in soaked oatmeal. Stir dry ingredients into the oatmeal mixture.
Bake in 13 x 9 inch pan for 30-35 minutes at 350º. Cool cake in pan.
Topping:
Combine first 6 topping ingredients and heat until bubbly. Stir in vanilla.
Spread topping over cake and broil until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
