1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic or equivalent garlic powder
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups water
1/2 tsp dried tarragon
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 tsp dried dill weed
4 skinless & boneless salmon; either four steaks or four 6 to 8 oz chunks of filet

In a skillet or sauce pan, sauté the onion and garlic in the butter. Add the water and seasonings. Add the salmon and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 to30 minutes or until fish can be flaked with a fork.
Salmon can be served hot or cold with your favorite tartar sauce or flaked and used in other recipes,
Note) A) Before cooking the salmon , with a sharp knife remove the skin and the grey fat layer from the filets.
B) If using garlic powder rather than a chopped clove add the powder with the rest of the spices.
