-1 cup uncooked wild rice
-1 1/2 cup water
-2 green onions, thinly sliced
-8 oz. mushrooms, sliced (optional)
-1 lb. chicken breasts, cut up without skin
-1 clove garlic, minced
-3 T butter
-1/4 cup flour
-1 qt. chicken broth
-1 cup whipping cream
-2 T dry sherry
-white pepper to taste
-chicken bullion to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. Rinse wild rice 3 times.
2. Cook chicken.
3. Combine rice and water in saucepan (may cook rice in strained broth from chicken if desired). Mix well.
4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 35-45 minutes or until rice is tender.
5. Sauté onions, mushrooms, chicken, and garlic in butter for 5-7 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
6. Stir in flour.
7. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
8. Add broth and mix well. Bring to a boil.
9. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
10. Stir in wild rice, cream, and add sherry.
11. Cook until heated through, stirring frequently. Season with white pepper.
