Ingredients: 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice 1 Large Can Pineapple (Sliced or Crushed) 1 White, Yellow, or Pineapple cake mix 1/2 Stick Butter Brown Sugar Maraschino Cherries (Optional)

Directions:In a 9-10" Cast Iron Skillet: Melt Butter & Brown Sugar stirring constantly
For Cake: When melted completely pour 1/2 into another skillet Put 1/2 can of pineapple slices or crushed pineapple in the syrup If using slices can place maraschino cherries in the hole of the pineapple
For Cupcakes: Using large muffins tins: When melted completely pour enough to coat the bottom of each muffin Put pineapple slice into each spot or enough crushed to coat bottom If using slices can place maraschino cherries in the hole of the pineapple Set Aside
Mix cake as directed on the box with the exception if it calls for water in mix replace it with the pineapple juice from the can to give more pineapple taste. Pour 1/2 in each skillet or in muffin tin on top of pineapple
Bake approximately 30 minutes at 350 degrees Turn out onto a cake dish being careful in case some of the syrup runs out. |
