2 Cups Granulated Sugar
2 Cups Raw Peanuts
½ Cup White Karo Syrup
1 Tspn Butter or Oleo
¼ Tspn Baking Soda

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, syrup, and one cup of water in a heavy sauce pan. Stir until all is dissolved (low heat). Continue cooking without stirring to 238 degrees on candy thermometer or until it forms a soft ball in cold water (about fifteen minutes).

Add peanuts and cook until syrup turns a golden brown (about ten minutes)

Remove from heat and add butter and soda. Stir until all is dissolved.

Pour into a greased cookie sheet and cool.

Break into small pieces when cold.

Hal's Aunt Rae used to make this and then Dean made it (even when he could barely see). He was so proud to share this when he was done. Used to sit at the dinette table in the basement making the brittle.
