½ c. butter
½ c. shortening (Crisco)
2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. flour
6 egg yolks
2 c. sugar
1 c. heavy whipping cream
4 tbsp. flour
½ tsp. salt
5 c. finely chopped rhubarb
6 egg whites
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
To make crust; mix first 4 ingredients with a pastry blender and pat in a 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix egg yolks until foamy and gradually add sugar. Add heavy cream, flour, salt, and rhubarb. Pour over crust. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes until firm. Cool. To make meringue topping; mix egg whites, salt and sugar together. Pour over cooked rhubarb and brown at 350º.
