A family tradition

Pop popcorn to make approx 6 quarts

Mix and Boil for 5 minutes
2 cps brown sugar
2 sticks butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 cp corn syrup

Remove pan from burner

Carefully add and stir briskly
1 tsp baking soda and tsp butter or vanilla extract
The mixture will lighten and expand so make sure there’s room in the pan
Stir into big bowl of popped corn

Place on cookie sheets and bake in 200º oven for 15 mins stirring occasionally

Store in an airtight container (I sometimes use a white garbage bag!)
