1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted enriched flour
½ tsp. salt
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until light, and fluffy. Stir in peanut butter. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Form into small balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork tines both directions. Bake in moderate oven for 10 minutes. Cool slightly, remove from pan. Makes 6 dozen.
