1 cup of flour
1 cup of yellow corn meal
Pinch of Sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp melted shortening or butter
1 egg
Milk

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl mix ingredients with enough milk to make a thin batter.
Bake 20 minutes until golden brown at 425 degrees. Use a fork in the middle to check to see if it's done if fork comes out clean it is done.
You can also add a half a cup of shredded cheese and some chopped jalapenos and a half a cup of drained corn if you want to turn it into a Mexican cornbread.
