1 can whole water chestnuts
1 pkg. sliced bacon
8 oz. whole dates
1 cup soy sauce
(For lower sodium, use 1/2 c. soy sauce and 1/2 c. water)
1 box round toothpicks

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the dates in half and remove the pits. Cut the chestnuts and bacon in half. Insert a chestnut half into a date half and wrap with a half piece of bacon. Secure by inserting a toothpick through the middle of the rumaki. Place the rumaki in a Pyrex baking dish and add the soy sauce. Repeat until all the dates and chestnuts are gone. Cover with foil and cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees in the oven. For crisper bacon, uncover for the last 10 minutes of cooking. For a lower calorie alternative, use turkey bacon.
