6 Lg. bell peppers
1 lb. ground beef
lb. sweet Italian sausage
3 tsp. chopped onion
1 cup cooked rice
1 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 cups Tomato Sauce
8 oz. Tomato Sauce for Topping and mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Heat oven to 350
Cut thin slice off the stem end of each bell pepper
Remove membrane and seeds and rinse pepper.
Cook peppers in enough boiling water to cover peppers about 5 minutes
Cook beef and onion in 10" skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes stirring occasionally until beef is brown; drained
Stir in rice, salt, garlic and 1 cup of tomato sauce and cook until hot.
Stuff peppers with beef mixture. Stand upright in ungreased baking dish.
Pour remaining tomato sauce over peppers.
Cover and bake 45 minutes. Uncover and bake about 15 minutes longer until peppers are tender
sprinkle with cheese
