5 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1 1/2 c golden raisins
rind of one lemon
1 1/2 t salt
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. milk
1 stick margarine or butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla
2 pkg dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 t. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, almonds, raisins, lemon rind, salt in a large bowl. set aside.
In a saucepan combine milk, butter, sugar and vanilla, warm to lukewarm.
Beat 3 eggs. Make a well in flour. Pour in lukewarm mixture.
Then mix together yeast, 1t. sugar and 1/2 c. warm water, add to well. mix all ingredients together.

Beat (with wooden spoon) the dough back & forth about 25 times in bowl then divides

Let raise till doubled. spray pans (bread 9x5 1/2) with Pam. Braid 4 then 3, then 2. Divide into halves1st
Bake 30 minutes @ 350º....use foil if top gets too brown.
