1 quart water
1 cup long grain white rice
½ teaspoon salt
1½ cups sugar
½ stick butter
1 to 1½ quarts whole milk, may substitute 1 cup half and half
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Use at least a 3 quart pot. Bring water to a boil, rice and salt. Boil until water is almost absorbed. Add some milk, sugar vanilla and margarine. Slowly boil until most of liquid is absorbed. Stir frequently. Keep adding mild. Simmer until milk is all used and rice is soft and creamy. Pour into a large bowl and top with cinnamon and sugar.

Easy to double recipe or cut in half. Store in refrigerator. Can heat in the microwave. Serve as side dish or dessert.

This recipe takes quite a while to cook and needs close attention. Stir often and do not allow to stick to the pan. End product should be a pudding consistency.
