1 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
¼ tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1½ cup Chopped Dates
1 cup Broken Black Walnuts
1 cup Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Beat eggs and sugar for one minute. Add flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla, dates and nuts. When well mixed, pour into a shallow pan lined with wax paper. Slightly grease both the pan and the paper. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove and invert onto baking rack or another piece of waxed paper. Use a sharp knife to cut into ½ ' squares and roll quickly in powdered sugar. Keep in airtight container.

This recipe was given to Mom Franz by a neighbor we called "Aunt Patsy". We used to take her to church on Sundays after her husband, "Uncle Bill" died. She had no other family and this was her prized recipe.
