Oil Pastry
1 cup sifted enriched flour
½ tsp salt
¼ cup salad oil (plus 1 tbsp)
3 tbsp ice water

Pie
5 to 7 tart apples
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp enriched flour
dash of salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmet
2 tbsp butter or margarine

Sprinkle topping
½ cup butter
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup flour

Oil pastry:
Sift flour and salt. Beat together oil and water till thick and creamy. Pour over entire surface of flour immediately. Mix with fork to form ball. Makes pastry for one 8 or 9 inch single crust pie.

Pie:
Pare apples and slice thinly. Mix sugar, flour, salt, spices and add to apples. Fill pastry lined pie pan. Dot with butter.

Sprinkle topping:
Mix until crumbly Then sprinkle on top of apple mixture.

Bake at 400º for 45-55 minutes.
