2c mashed potatoes
1 1/2c sugar
1 1/2c shortening
2tsp salt
1c flour
6 eggs
1Tbsp vanilla
4c warm milk
4 yeast cakes
12c flour (approximately)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix potatoes, sugar, shortening, 1cup of flour, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Add milk and yeast, stirring. Add flour gradually, then knead. Let stand 15 minutes. Roll 1/2inch thick. Cut out doughnuts. Rise until double. Deep fry. Top with glaze or a favorite frosting or roll in cinnamon and sugar. (This makes enough doughnuts for a party. Cut it way down if you are doing it just for your family).
