2 cubes butter
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 dozen eggs
8 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice and rind
1 tablespoon lemon extract
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs and beat. Cream sugar with butter, then add egg yokes one at a time. Add lemon juice, rind and extract. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together. Add to other ingredients. Mix the mixture with mixer on low setting. Add beaten egg whites to mixture. Mix together well.

Preheat oven to 325 to 350 degrees. Form cookies into small balls about the size of a quarter. Flatten bottom on pan and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Frost with thin lemon icing.
