1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
4 cups hot water
1 cup carrots-cut as desired
1 cup celery-cut as desired
1 cup diced potatoes
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 T. beef base
1 bay leaf
pinch of basil
1 can diced tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Brown beef, add onions, and cook 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except tomatoes. Bring to boil, cover and simmer 20 minutes or more. Add tomatoes and simmer 10 minutes or more.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
