1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. hot water
5 c. flour
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and molasses together. Add baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Add shortening and hot water; mix in flour last. Roll out dough and cut. Bake at 350º for about 8 to 10 minutes. Yields about 3 dozen cookies.
