2 cups brown sugar
½ cup shortening
1 beaten egg
1½ cups buttermilk
2½ cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

TOPPING:
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup flour
3 Tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Grease and flour cake pan

Cream sugar and shortening, and add egg.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with the buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Pour into cake pan

Combine brown sugar, flour and butter and sprinkle over top of cake.

Bake for 45 minutes or until it tests done.
