1 ¼ cups all-purpose baking flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
⅓ cup butter
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup dairy sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package pitted whole dates, snipped (2 cups)
½ cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven 400º.

In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; set aside.

In a medium bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Gradually add brown sugar, beating on medium speed until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined.

Alternately add flour mixture and sour cream to egg mixture, beating on low speed just until combined. Stir in dates and walnuts.

Drop by well-rounded teaspoons two inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 - 10 minutes.

Cool; drizzle with icing.
 

Butter Icing

1 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 - 3 tsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, stir together sifted powdered sugar, melted butter and vanilla.

Stir in enough milk to make a drizzling consistency.
