2 cakes or 2 packs of yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs well beaten
1 cup milk, scalded
1/3 cup shortening (half butter}
6 1/2 to 7 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in the lukewarm water with the tsp. of sugar. Scald the milk. Stir in salt and sugar and cool to lukewarm. When cooled. Stir into yeast mixture with beaten eggs, add about 4 cups flour and beat until smooth then add melted shortening and again beat until smooth. Stir and knead in enough flour to make smooth but not stiff. Place in lightly greased bowl. Turn dough over, cover and let rise about 1 hour, then shape into rolls or loaves and place in greased pans, cover and let rise again about 45 minutes. Bake rolls 15 to 20 minutes in oven at 400 degrees then bake rolls about 20 minutes in a 375 degrees oven.
