2 teaspoons salt (optional) 2 teaspoons dried rosemary 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 76 fluid ounces water 1 (29 ounce) can tomato puree 3 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste

Directions: Heat butter and olive oil together with onion and garlic in a large pot over medium heat; cook and stir ground beef and sausage in the onion mixture until browned and crumbly, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir Italian seasoning, salt, rosemary, oregano, and black pepper into ground beef-sausage mixture; simmer for 20 minutes. Pour water, tomato puree, and tomato paste into ground beef-sausage mixture; simmer, stirring occasionally, over low heat until flavors have combined, at least 2 hours. |

Ingredients: 5 cups buttermilk baking mix 1-2/3 cups milk 1-1/4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1-1/4 teaspoons garlic powder

Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Combine baking mix, milk and cheddar cheese in mixing bowl. Beat with wooden spoon till soft dough forms. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Mix butter and garlic powder and brush over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet.

Notes: In my opinion, the longer the sauce simmers without burning, the better tasting the sauce. Also, try to time the biscuits to come out at the completion of the rest of the meal.
