1 lb turkey italian sausage links, cut into 1-inch pieces
2c broccoli florets
1c uncooked mostaccioli pasta (3 ounces)
2 1/2c water
1/2tsp dried basil leaves
1/4tsp fennel seed, crushed
1/4tsp pepper
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2c)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 can (28 ounces) whole Italian style tomatoes, undrained
1 can (10 1/2ounces) condensed beef broth

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sausage over medium-high heat, stirring occassionally, until brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients, breaking up tomatoes. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mostaccioli is tender. Makes about 6 servings.

This is a good soup to serve after outdoor winter activities. Serve with salad, crusty breadsticks and fresh apples for dessert.
