Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup warmed sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, egg, water and salt; beat thoroughly. Dough should be stiff enough not to run off a spoon. Scoop up a generous amount of dough with a wooden spoon. With a knife, slice off small pieces of dough to push them directly into a large kettle of boiling salted water. (You can also use a späetzle hobel.) The spaetzle will rise to the surface when cooked. Drain well and transfer to a deep, heated serving dish. Pour melted butter over them and (if desired) stir in sour cream. Shake well, serve hot.
