CAKE
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
1 cup water
4 Tablespoons cocoa
½ cup milk
2 eggs
1 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla

FROSTING
1 stick butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
6 t. milk
1 t. vanilla
1 box powdered sugar (1 pound)
chopped walnuts optional

Directions:

Cake
Bring to boil the butter, water and cocoa. Remove from stove. Mix with flour and sugar. Add milk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Bake 400º for 15 minutes on greased (with butter) and floured sheet cake pan.

Frosting
Start making frosting almost right away. Bring to boil butter. cocoa, and milk. Remove from stove. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. MUST put on cake while cake is still hot. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top of frosting if desired.
