1/3 cup soft shortening
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups dark molasses
2/3 cup cold water
6 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix shortening, brown sugar, and dark molasses and then add the cold water after mixed. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and spices together. Add dry ingredients to the sugar mixture and combine. Chill dough for at least 1 hour. Drop dough onto cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes.
