Ingredients: Pkg of Bagels (onion flavored, cheese baked or original)
6 eggs
sliced cheddar cheese or provolone (favorite cheese - preference)
butter/margarine
onion salt
paprika

Directions:(I prefer the Costco bagels baked with cheese on topped~ they are amazing!)
First slice your bagels in half and toast. While toasting warm a skillet to low/med (4). Once toasted butter all halves. Then take bottom and lay in hot skillet till golden and crunchy. Take off and layer with a slice of cheese while still hot. The break an egg into skillet and fry to your liking. While frying sprinkle with Paprika, onion salt & pepper generously. Flip and do the same. If you prefer the yolk soft that is fine just keep in mind it will be a bit messier to eat but will taste just as amazing. Once egg is done lay on top of cheese layer. Then take top bagel slice and put buttered side down into hot skillet till golden brown. I usually flip top over to butter both sides and sprinkle a dash of onion salt on the outside of the bagel. Once golden layer on top of the egg and serve piping hot. If you do them in this order you get a bagel that is crunchy and buttery on the outside but soft inside. These are amazing sandwiches. One of my husband's all time favorites!
Note: If you decide to make these on a large scale toast then layer cheese and egg then wrap in individual foil and bake for 10-15 mins at 350 before serving. |
