½ c sugar
3 T. cornstarch
¼ tsp salt
1 beaten egg yolk
2 x 20oz. cans pineapple chunks


Crust:
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp sugar
1 pkg active dry yeast in ¼ cup warm water
4 egg yolks
1 cup butter
4 cups all purpose flour

Glaze:
1 cup 10x powdered sugar
2-3 T milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan. Stir in 1 beaten egg yolk and pineapple chunks. Heat on medium and cook while stirring until mixture is thick. Let cool.

In another saucepan, heat milk and 1 tsp sugar until scalding and then cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in ¼ cup warm water. Add milk mixture and beat in 4 egg yolks.

Cut 1 cup of butter into flour to make a crumble. Add liquid mixture and beat until smooth.

Divide dough in half. On a floured board, roll out bottom crust to fit a small jelly roll pan. Spread with filling. Roll out remaining dough and cover filling. Roll and seal edges. Make several slits in the top of the dough to let steam escape. Cover with a cloth and let rise in warm place for 1 hour.

Bake at 375F for 35 minutes. Add milk to powdered sugar to make a glaze.

When cool, drizzle with glaze.
