2 eggs
¾ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

½ cup milk
1 Tbsp butter

TOPPING:
6 Tbsps butter
8 Tbsps brown sugar
2 Tbsps cream
¾ cup coconut

Directions:

CAKE:
Preheat oven to 350º 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan

Beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add dry ingredients to egg mixture and mix.

In a saucepan heat milk to boiling point.
Add the butter, stir and add all at once to other ingredients.

Pour into pan and bake 25 minutes until done.

TOPPING:
Preheat oven to broiling temperature.

Melt butter in a saucepan.
Add sugar, cream and coconut and mix together.
Spread on top of cake when taken from oven.
Pu tunder the broiler for a few moments to brown,
Watch carefully so as not to burn.

Kathryn got this recipe from Mrs.Rose. I don't know who she was, but I think this recipe is from long ago, judging from the condition of the index card and the fact that I definitely remember this recipe from my childhood.
