2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups unsifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tsp vanilla

Cinnamon topping
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs butter
1 cup chopped walnuts if desired.

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350º
Grease a 9 x 11 inch pan.

Cinnamon topping: combine all ingredients and mix gently until crumbly.


For cake:
Cream sugar and butter til fluffy. Add eggs & vanilla

Alternately add sour cream and dry ingredients, beating after each addition.

Pour half of the batter in the pan, then half of the cinnamon topping, then remainder batter and finally last half of topping.
Bake for 45 minutes

For a festive appearance use some powdered sugar on the top.
