freshly hulled peas or sugar peas in pod
1 Tbsp. butter
½ tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. water

Directions:
Directions:
Crumble together the butter, salt and flour.......Moisten with the water......Drop from a teaspoon into peas that have been cooked in salted water until almost soft....If you like, milk and butter can be added to peas before butter balls are dropped.....Cover and boil five minutes longer.
A vegetable speciality in the Pennsylvania Dutch country are sugar peas—- the peas with the edible pods, sweet and tender. They are picked while young when the peas are smaller than regular peas, but oh, so good. Don’t forget to take the strings off the pods!
