Directions: |
Directions:Grease medium size cookie sheet with butter. Crush/Chop nuts coarsely and spread evenly on greased cookie sheet. Combine Butter, Brown sugar in a heavy sauce pan, stirring constantly until ingredients reaches 300 degrees ( a candy thermometer may help you) otherwise butter/sugar mixture will not mix together properly and will turn out sugary instead of a brittle mixture. When mixture reaches 300 degrees pour over nuts so mixture reaches all corners of cookie sheet evenly. Sprinkle chocolate buttons over top of mixture while still hot. Buttons will melt into mixture. Let cool Break into brittle size bites |

Notes: This is a touchy recipe and may take a couple of tries to get the butter/sugar mixture right. I usually double this recipe as I like to bag a bit and give away to friends and family for Christmas treat.
