4 slices cooked bacon (or if you have shredded bbq beef or beef tips you can use and its even better)
28 oz Can of pork and beans (plain)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp minced onion (can be fresh or dried)
1 tsp chili powder
1 Tbsp liquid smoke
3/4 cup BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Rays)
1/4 cup sorghum (or molasses)
1/4 cup ketchup

combine all ingredient and bake on low for 70 minutes at 325 degrees or you can put it in the crock pot on low for 3- 4 hours.

I made this for every Barbecue and it was a big hit. Grandma Rhoda found the recipe in the Kansas City Star back when i was young (1996 or so). there was a famous Barbecue place here called Smoke Stack and I LOVED THEIR BEANS!!

I have kept this recipe and never changed a thing (except maybe reducing the brown sugar some and adding more chili powder to kick up the spicy).
