4 1/2 c flour
4 t powdered ginger
2 c sugar
2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t ground cloves
1/2 c molasses
1 1/2 c soft butter or shortening
2 eggs

1/2 c sugar-for rolling

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and sugar until combined
Add in eggs and molasses
Beat in dry ingredients
Form 2 inch balls, roll in remaining sugar, and place on ungreased cookie sheet
Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes until puffed and lightly golden, do not over bake
Cool on waxed paper
