1 medium onions, sliced
3 Tb. Oil
1 lb. Ground beef
2 C (I can) whole tomatoes
½ can water
½ C washed uncooked white rice
1 tsp. Chili powder
grated cheddar cheese
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sliced onions and ground beef in oil until beef is gray. Add next 6 ingredients; stir well. Put in greased 2-quart casserole dish. Cover. Bake 40 minutes at 350°. Uncover and add grated cheese. Bake an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. This can be prepared ahead, refrigerated, and baked later.
