2 lbs sugar
1 lb corn syrup
1 c condensed milk
½ tsp salt
1 qt cream
2 tbsp sweet butter
2 tbsp vanilla
1 lb almonds, toasted

Directions:
Directions:
In a 3 quart saucepan, put the sugar, corn syrup, condensed milk, salt and one third of the cream. Stir over a low flame until the sugar is dissolved and cook to 236º. Blend in half of the remaining cream and cook to 240º. Blend in the butter and the rest of the cream. Cook to 244º.
Remove from the heat, add the vanilla and almonds. Pour the caramel onto a slightly oiled or sprayed marble slab or a 15" x 10" x 2" jelly-roll pan. When cool cut into squares and wrap in pre-cut squares of wax paper.
