1/2 c margarine
1 c sugar
1 egg
1/4 c molasses
2 c flour
1 Tbsp ginger
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
Have also added a bit of star anise, allspice, fresh nutmeg

375º F for 9 minutes. CO 350º F 5-8 minutes. watch closely so do not burn.

Cream marg and sugar, then add egg and molasses and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mix, mix well.
Form into small balls (small size like shortbreads 1/2" or so) and roll in white sugar.

Place 2 " apart, ungreased cookie sheet.
