1 cup butter
½ cup shortening
1 lb. brown sugar
1 cup sugar
5 eggs
3 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and shortening together; gradually add sugars, creaming until mixture is light and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to cream mixture alternately with combined milk and vanilla. Bake 1¼ hours at 350°.
