1 (14 oz.) bag Kraft caramels
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 two-layer German chocolate cake mix with pudding
½ cup margarine, melted
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1½ cups chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In medium saucepan, melt caramels with¼ cup milk over low heat, stirring until smooth. Set aside. In large bowl, mix together remaining milk, cake mix, and margarine. Press half of cake mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 8 minutes. Sprinkle mixture, spreading to edges of pan. Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture; press gently into caramel mixture. Bake at 350° for 16 to 18 minutes. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips. Spread on top and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Cool. Cut into bars. Makes 2 dozen.
