Filling: sugar

2-1/2 C milk

1/3 C all-purpose flour

1C sugar

2 squares unsweet chocolate

4 egg yolks

2-T firm butter

1 tsp of vanilla

Meringue:
2 egg whites(more if you prefer think meringue on pie)

Dash of salt

3-1/2 T sugar

1/4-t vanilla

Bake pie shell and cool.

Follow diections for mixing and baking Lemon Cream pie except substitue chocolate for lemon/lemon juice.

Mom made this pie because she recognized early that most of the members of our family were chocoholics. Timing of cooking the custard is very important. Donna can attest to this fact as her first attempt at this pie resulted in "tobbaco" flavored filling. LOL
