3 ounces cream cheese
1 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1 egg
dash of salt
2½ cups flour
1 tablespoon almond extract
1 dozen maraschino cherries chopped (I use a lot more)1 cup chopped pecans
1 6 ounce package semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream softened butter and cream cheese together. Add sugar, egg and almond extract and mix well. Add flour and salt. Stir in cherries, pecans and chocolate chips.

Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 350º for about 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies will not need to be browned. Only the bottom will look brown, tops will still look pale.

This recipe is probably 80 to 100 years old. I though it was lost to history, but Aunt Mary heard me talking about the cookies one day and said she had the recipe. I am so glad. Denise
