1/2 # Italian Sausage (do not subsititute)
1 1/2# Ground beef
1 clove garlic minced
1 tbsp. Parsley flakes
1 tbsp. Basil
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1 lb can (2 c.) diced tomatoes
2 6oz cans tomato paste

1 10oz packages lasagna noodles

1 24 oz large curd cottage cheese
2 eggs beaten
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp. parsley flakes

1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
1# mozzarella cheese (sliced very thin)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat mixture slowly. Add next 5 ingredients to meat; simmer uncovered until thick, stirring occasionally.
Cook noodles per package directions, drain, rinse in cold water.
Combine next 5 ingredients in a bowl and set aside (cottage cheese, eggs, salt pepper, parsley flakes).
Place half of the cooked noodles in a 9x13x2 baking dish. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles, then all half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the meat mixture. Repeat layers.
Bake at 375º for 30 minutes. Let stand for 10-15 minutes to set before serving.

This is a recipe I've been using for about 40 years. It comes out perfect every time!
The pieces come out of the pan in nice squares that don't fall apart when serving.
