12 ears fresh corn, grated (8 cups)4 cups butter 24 eggs 4 tsp.salt 4 tsp.black pepper 4 Tbsp.sugar 4 pints half- and-half

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in corn.Fold in beaten eggs;add seasonings and half-and-half. Place in a warmed 2-quart casserole. Put casserole in oven in pan of hot water and cook at 325*F.for 1 hour.This casserole should set like a custard and can be tested with a knife blade.
