4(141/2-ozs.)cans chicken broth 4(141/3-ozs.)cans beef broth 8 cups water 12 slices bacon, cut into small pieces 3 small green cabbage, shredded 3 small onion,chopped 4 cloves garlic, crushed 16 carrots, diced 16 stalks celery,chopped 41/2 tsp.salt 4 tsp.pepper 4(10-ozs.) Pkgs.frozen chopped spinach 4(10-ozs.) Pgks.frozen peas 4(10-ozs.)pkgs.navy beans 4 cups macaroni 3 tsp.each marjoram,thyme and Basil 4 cups parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Prepare all the vegetables.Bring broth to simmering point in a large heavy pot.Add bacon, cabbage, onion,garlic, carrots, celery, salt and pepper. Simmer until vegetables are almost tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Add spinach, peas,beans, macaroni and herbs to seasoning, adding more salt and pepper if necessary. Serve hot sprinkled generously with Parmesan cheese.
