1/2 C salt
1 C water
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 Tbsp cooking oil
food coloring

Stir all ingredients over medium heat till mixture leaves sides of the pan. Remove and knead dough with food coloring to desired color and texture. Store in plastic bags.

This is so fun for children and is so much better than the commercial play dough. It is softer, doesn't stick to carpet and store longer. I have made this for years and you girls have loved playing with it. I have used it at carnivals and family events. Children love play-dough. Add cookie cutters and rolling pins and you have entertainment for all afternoon.
