1 1/2 c oatmeal
1 1/2 c flour
1 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp soda
1 c shortening
1/2 c nuts (optional)
3 c rhubarb, cut up
1 1/2 c sugar
2 T corn starch
1/2 c water
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, soda, shortening and nuts (optional) together until crumbly. Pat 3/4 of mixture into a 9 x 13 pan. Dissolve the corn starch in the water. Mix all ingredients together and cook until thick. Pour rhubarb mixture over crust and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake 375º for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
