1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup baking molasses
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 cup hot water
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Add molasses, ginger and salt. Beat again. Add baking soda to hot water, stir well. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in flour and mix thoroughly. Drop from tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 12 minutes.
