Cake:
2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 cups of sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening(Crisco)
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup of water
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt

Icing:
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons buttermilk
box of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Cake:
Sift together flour, sugar and salt in large bowl and set aside.
In double boiler, put 1 stick butter, shortening, cocoa and water. Let come to a boil. Pour over sugar/flour/salt mixture and beat. Add eggs, baking soda, cinnamon, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into greased 16x10x2 inch jelly roll pan. and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and pour icing over hot cake in pan.

Icing:
Place butter, cocoa, and buttermilk in double boiler---let come to a boil. Remove from heat and add box of powdered sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and pecans. Beat well and pour over cake as soon as it is removed from the oven.

Serve warm or cold with vanilla ice cream or just plain like a brownie.
