1 lb hamburger
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup diced green pepper
4 cups tomato juice
11/2 cup water
2 (10 3/4 oz) cans cream of celery soup
2 1/2 cup chopped carrots, or grated if you prefer
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp garlic salt or 3 large cloves of minced garlic
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp marjoram
6 to 8 slices Swiss or other cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In a skillet, brown hamburger and discard drippings.Add
celery, onion, and green pepper.
Cover and simmer on low heat until vegetables are tender (about 10 minutes).

In a large sauce pan, or dutch oven, combine tomato juice,
water, celery soup, carrots, sugar, garlic salt or minced
garlic, salt, pepper and marjoram.
Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve over sliced cheese or
you can just put the cheese in the soup before serving.
